Dane Clark, an American theater, film, and television actor, was born Bernard Zanville on February 26, 1912, in Brooklyn, New York.

Growing up in the diverse and vibrant atmosphere of Brooklyn, he remained a Brooklynite throughout his life. His father owned a sporting goods store and was able to provide him with a good education.
