Myrta Lockett Avary (December 7, 1857 – February 14, 1946) was an American white supremacist writer and journalist.
Her books include Dixie After the War (1906), The Recollections of Alexander H. Stephens (1910) and Uncle Remus and the Wren's Nest (1913). She died on February 14, 1946, in Atlanta.[1][2]
Life
Myrta Lockett was born in Halifax County, Virginia on December 7, 1857.
She was born to Harwood and Augusta Lockett. She married Georgian physician James Corbin Avary in 1884 and moved to Atlanta, Georgia.[2] They had
